Resistance Is Futile And The Dalai Lama

If the Dalai Lama believed in hell, Robin Vos would have told him he could go straight there...

In what is surely the strangest confluence of politics and spirituality, his holiness, the Dalai Lama, addressed the Wisconsin Legislature yesterday. Afterwards, they voted to block lower court decisions on injunctions or restraining orders as long as they appeal the decision within ten days.

It's like a "do-over" on judgments they don't like - only everybody else loses.

The Siren's email and Facebook has been full of plaintive messages from liberal, environmental and social justice groups saying things like "act now" or "it's not too late" before the budget gets voted on to change the course of a variety of shocking items Scott Walker has added to his budget - more tort reform, school vouchers, environmental roll-backs, you name it. It's all crap that doesn't have anything to do with the budget and he doesn't want voted on in individual pieces of legislation.

Here's the thing: it is too late. Embrace it.

Why? Well first, Madison Republicans aren't going to consider a single amendment Democrats put forward. If they won't vote for a proposal to allow people on food stamps to buy Wisconsin made cheese instead of Kraft Velveeta - you're fucked. Game over.

Second, there are a whole bunch of people out there with dingleberries for brains who think because the Journal Times told them Scott Walker projected a fake $500 million budget surplus because he borrowed $2 billion in cash that will be due a few years after he leaves office - this means he's doing a good job. You aren't going to convince them otherwise.

So we say: Bring. It. On.

Let's get those rent-to-own shysters rolling, strip the schools and watch the teachers move away, let jailbirds pick up our garbage, roll the poor people out to the bus-stop after they get kicked off Badgercare. We can give everyone a fucking gun. They'll need it.

Seriously, get out of the way and let them have it all.

Maybe, just maybe, by the time the campaign for Governor for 2014 gets going even the people with dingleberries for brains will understand that moving from 11th to 44th in job creation actually does effect them - because as long as it doesn't - get used to saying: Governor Walker.

One final word on the Dalai Lama. While his holiness may not believe in hell, Robin Vos better be fucking sure there is no such thing as karma.
